As of June 5, 2008, I am officially submitting my resignation from the role of Art Director for Lake Pointe Church, effective August 1, 2008. I’ve arrived at this decision after months of careful contemplation and prayer, and it’s with gladness I can say the Spirit of God is leading me on to pursue with greater focus photography, music, and various avenues of writing.
My loyalty runs deep for Lake Pointe, and the Communications Team with whom I have developed such a strong bond transcends the traditional definition of “workplace” relationships. I think that is a miracle possible only by the Spirit’s work of Unity in Christ.
So, although it is with grief that I look upon my leaving, it is with great joy that I look towards the opportunities the Father continually provides for me to proclaim the coming Kingdom of His Son through the arts.
Grace, Peace, and Love,
Andrew Shepherd
You don’t say… You failed to make mention of this little decision a mere week ago.
I’m happy for you. Truly.
I am thrilled for you, Brother. I am eagerly anticipating hearing about the ways the Father allows you to use your gifts.
Leaving the church? WTF??? (read with some reverence)
A couple of things:
a. i don’t really know you, so … got nothing.
b. you are taller in person than you look in that picture up there. And prettier.
c. you are a gifted photographer.
d. how will you pursue writing? interested in writing an Abbey Rule? Little liturgy here, little laud, vesper, and compline action there? eh? eh? eh?
e. whatever path the way of the artist takes you, kick ass.
again, though I don’t really know you, i really like you. congratulations, best, and a buh bye.
I’m excited for you man. I love change. Keep the updates coming, I want to hear how things are going.
also, i will be pursuing these artistic endeavors, and life in general, in God’s country…the 501

the 501 is a ready market for someone such as you…
(as in get up here)

Andrew… Sounds like you're taking a step of faith rooted in the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. So grateful we can keep in touch via Facebook. I wish you the best in the days ahead.
Wondering if you know a former OBU grad Adam Langley? He and his wife Kara live in Austin. He's on FB too and you might enjoy making his aquaintance.

I have thoroughly enjoyed your writing and photography on facebook. I am anxious to see what God will do through you when you are "wheels off" and "unleashed." You are superbly talented…I know Lake Pointe will miss you.

D.O. :: My apologies – It’s a thing i had been thinking since November, so I guess I’d become accustomed to “keeping it low.”
When I went to Arkansas this past weekend, many things about the trip [and the Spirit through them] revealed that i needed to go ahead and pull the trigger. two days later, it was done.
thanks for sharing my Joy.
you are superbly talented
I'll second that from susan!

Heather :: Thank you so much sister. It seems like we have an even greater affinity now with this time of common transition. Maybe Houston will have me for a visit in August. Most of my family lives down yonder.
Mooce :: D. yes, yes, yes. I would love to.
Also, I’d love to sit at the same table as you next time we go to Chuy’s.
Chris H :: hahaaaa. Thank you for the addendum, i did forget to type that in.

Dude, that's awesome. Looking forward to seeing what you create.
